Contextualizing the Work (3-5 minutes)

Step 1: Major Assessment 1: General Music

Research Essay and Presentation

Focusing the Group (1-2 minutes)

Step 2: Robinson looking for feedback as to better formatively assess student mastery of concepts and process for submission prior to final term.

Clarifying Questions (3-5 minutes)

Step 3: The team asks clarifying questions to the presenter. What or who did you research? What are you trying to assess?

Collecting Data: Evaluating the Assessment  (10 minutes)

Step 4: This assessment is designed to meet criteria from the TNHS Writing Vision.

Positive Feedback (3-5 minutes)

Step 5: The research project highlighted iconic composers and factors of their lives that led to their success. This seemed to be rewarding to the students because they got to compose a scholarly paper on a composer that they were already interested in.

Tuning (3-5 minutes)

Step 6:  Team members share ideas for progress. The presenter listens and takes notes.

- “Have you considered doing a peer reading half way through?"

- “I question whether or not students are afforded adequate and reliable technology to complete the assigned tasks"

Debrief (3-5 minutes)

Step 7: Robinson to consider doing a peer reading (formative assessments) part way through the process. Aligns with Program of Studies and meets TNHS Writing Rubric criteria for success.

Step 4: This assessment is designed to meet criteria from the Performance Review.

Step 5: The project was very creative, the students were challenged on many levels of operation. While the project was long term, several components were coming together at the time we discussed the work.

Tuning (3-5 minutes)

Step 6:  Team members share ideas for progress. The presenter listens and takes notes.

- “Have you considered doing a two week out mini critique."

- “I think the alignment in question…”

- “I question weather or not students are afforded adequete and reliable technology to complete the assigned tasks"

Debrief (3-5 minutes)

Step 7:  Hoyes to consider mini-critique (formative assessments) part way through the process. Good project to demonstrate need for more technology in the classroom. Aligns with Program of Studies.
